Hajime-aru mono wa owari ari. And so I return from whence I came, into the trenches of daily life. Keep your head down and don’t stop moving, you’re a harder target then. After so long away from the office on the emotional rollercoaster of last week, it’s hard to focus on anything at hand. There are a million things to do; I’m just not doing any of them. The phone goes off like artillery, and I have spent the morning dodging its shells and eating wheat thins.
I did alot of writing last week; I may put some entries up here later today. The St. Patrick’s pictures are up, sans videos. Those of you who were in them just email or txt me for a link to the files.
Vegas this weekend was great. Carlos and Nia were gracious enough to put me up during my stay so I didn’t have to drive back and forth; god knows I have done enough driving the last couple of weeks. Thanks you guys! Spent Friday evening at silverbowl stadium checking out the moster trucks and watching the time trials until about 9:30. Em and I made a kick ass breakfast on Saturday at Carlos and Heathers place, hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage, blueberry muffins (regular and melissa style). Sooo good. Then back to Silverbowl and more monster trucks all day. While I was waiting for Dale and Justin to show up I wandered around and took pictures of all sorts of things and futilely waited for the moto-X show to start. I started walking out to the car for something, when I realized I had left my digi-cam sitting on the bench in the park. Running all the way back, I ran up to the benches I was on and discovered it was missing. I spent the next hour and a half wandering the park, praying that I would somehow find it against all odds. Finally I went back to near where I was sitting earlier and just stared at the crowds. Some guy in the crowd was taking pictures with MY camera!!! He was really cool about returning it and said he had been waiting in the general area for someone to claim it. I about died with relief. That would have been the 4th digicam in 6 months to get stolen or destroyed. Thanks, Sticker, for starting that trend.
There are pics of the monster trucks up on the web, although most of them are at least a little blurry because of the lighting. We took more video than stills, but out of respect for Ruiner, I won’t dump a half a gig of Monster truck movies on his server. Speaking of Ruiner, props to him for taking Jenna Jameson out and showing her a good time.
We (em, Nia, Crystal {no, not that one}, April, and Dom) spent Sunday cooking watching movies and playing in the park. We spent an hour and a half just laying in the grass moving the clouds with our minds, then went to sonic for cherry limeades. Finally, after watching ‘The King and I’ I took off heading home. I cannot tell those of you who have never crashed at my place what a wonderful feeling it is to come home after a journey of miles by the thousands and so many familiar and strange beds, and fall into something as warm and comforting as my bed. I was asleep in almost no time.
