Old enough to know better

Let me just first say that Ocean Spray orange juice is nasty! T minus 11 hours till Jen lands, and I am running on far too little sleep. Jake and Cheryl came over to say hi last night before I went to the gym and we started looking at the pictures of the trip through Utah to see granddad. Cheryl took off to go on a date with two guys (Yes, at once.) and Jake and I were left to our own machinations. About an hour later I had finally talked myself out of doing anything productive with the evening so we started drinking and calling people. About an hour after that we had Devyn, Charlie, Cheryl, Chris, and Kara in the mix as well. For some reason we watched Interview with the Vampire twice in a row and then proceeded to watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in French. By watched I mean put in the movie and then milled around the house like schizophrenic carpenter ants.

Charlie was a riot! This is the second time I have hung out with him, first time being a couple of days ago for dinner. Charlie is pretty textbook gay. Hip fashion sense, nice (if slightly effeminate) voice, big into electronica, musicals, and Will & Grace. Fun guy to hang around. It was great when Kara leans over to him in a crowded room and whispers in his ear, “Are you Gay?” His response? “Ow, ow, my eyes hurt from rolling!”

Everyone made fun of Kara for her new boy Chris. Especially when he walked into the room where she fucked James on NYE. Kara, your new hair really does look nice though. About halfway through the insanity, Chris and Kara left, although lord knows why. So long, suckers.

Good to see Devyn again. I respect him more than any of the people out here because he sticks to his guns. Smart guy too, speaks like 42 languages, although a stiff breeze would pose a problem for him, since he weighs 90 pounds and stands 6’3″.

I finally passed out around 1 am after watching the room spin for half an hour before the sandman could make his appearance. When I awoke everyone was still there. Cheryl was in bed next to me. When did she come back? Devyn, the only sober one of the night, was occupying Jake’s usual spot on the couch, and Jake and Charlie were asleep in the spare room. By the time I left for work, most people were awake and moving, but I highly doubt that they stayed that way.

Now here I am slugging my way through the day with a moderate hangover and neck pain like no-other-mother. We have all sorts of High-ups touring the complex today for some reason. I just have to make sure I am busy working when they come by. I called Cheryl’s mom a little bit ago to let her know that her daughter was still alive. Now I am really just counting the minutes till lunch time.
