Serenity

So anyone who has seen the full season of Joss Whedon’s Firefly knows what a great show it was/is. If you have seen it and are among the vast cult following then you also know of the movie Serenity. Bear with me for one more jump in logic, if you are still among the members of the salivating mass to whom I speak, then you are no doubt trying to get prescreening tickets to Serenity.

Nina, god bless her, just called me at work and let me know that she was able to procure 2 tickets for the show in Riverside this thursday evening. Riverside is unprepared for the ensuing geek storm that is going to hit it this week, of this I am sure. Nina and I have similar hobbies so we try to tag around to things like this and Comic-Con. She being ‘in the industry’, so to speak, is usually the driving force behind our endeavors, whilst I simply play Hopalong to her Sundance. We are fans, but not fanatics. I think the definition of scary geeked Joss fanatic was last year at the Serenity panel discussion in San Diego. He stood up to ask ridiculous quesions of the director and cast, then proceeded to tell Joss Whedon, the director, that he was living in the alley behind Joss’ home in a box. Not Healthy.

Fast forward a year from scary panel to this summer. We are finally going to get to see the movie we have so diligently followed, months before it is released. I am going to gloat about this all the way up to its September release date. Much love to Nina Darguzis, Make-up Artist extraordinaire!

    So Lucky,
Was it better then you expected it to be, or just plain old good. Was all the same characters in it?

It was intense. Especially with Joss at the viewing for his birthday. The characters are in it for the most part. they are a little different though. It was different but awesome.
