So, today was remarkable for a few reasons. The first is that I am still awake after 40 hours at work with less than ten hours sleep and absolutely no caffeine. Granted I am not as quick-witted as I might otherwise be, fully rested and Red Bull energized, but I’m being surprisingly productive. I think I’m rather like the Mentally Retarded guy that works at Burger King. He just doesn’t know enough to slack off and fuck around, so he keeps on working until they send him home for slobbering in the cheese drawer. Lucky for me, I don’t work with cheese.
Second, I was mercilessly hit on by a woman I have never met before. This is not unheard of. However, it was something other than the usual drive-by “What’s Up? Yer Hawt!” that infuses my days launched as part of a shotgun attempt from the varying homo’s and crones trolling the web. She was funny, engaging, intelligent, and spoke with a cadence very dissimilar to anything I have heard lately. She also lives in another country. It was fun.
Third, I was asked out by two girls here locally. All this coming on the heels of a very strange booty call last week. They aren’t kidding. When it rains, it pours. And when it comes to women, it only rains when you don’t need it to.
I think that applies to pretty much everything, though. Stop looking and it will come to you. Even when you don’t want it. This summer was that way. Didn’t need it; didn’t want it. But life has a way of never asking you what you want; you don’t get the choice on what comes or when it comes to you. So I guess we deal with it and keep moving; rolling with the punches and stealing those small moments of grace where we can get them; rolled up in the arms of a loved one, hesitant to move for fear of breaking the spell that holds you both above the torrential flow of humanity for those brief seconds.
I say fuck it. Enjoy it all; the ups and down; the reticence and boldness; the frustration and the victories. I know I have been. We’ll just have to see where it goes. Hail to the king, Baby. Elvis sees all.
lol… I’m telling you SLC. A meet and greet should be in order. You’ll like what you see and hear. She kicks ass.
Love the 4th paragraph.. well written.
“………the varying homo’s and crones trolling the web.”
I resemble…I mean, resent that.
Female seeking Male
Saw your personal and was very impressed. I’m 22 and live in Atlanta, GA. I see that you’ve received some interest from other countries, and figured since I live inside the states, I might have a better shot at catching your attention. If interested in finding out more send me an email and I’ll send you some pictures that will blow your mind.
Anxiously awaiting,
Your Georgia Peach
Peach,
I’m intrigued. Wouldn’t you know it? I love peaches! I don’t usually date southerners, too much fried food, but it’s not like we’re dating. I’ll be in Georgia near your area on business for a few weeks in September. Love to catch up to you. You’ve seen my pictures and I’m looking forward to yours. Check your email soon!
Elvis (the King of Rockstars, Baby!)
I can peaches, usually in september, by then they’re really ripe for the pickin’. Is it pourin’ yet? Other countries have a tendency to visit the states in all its patriotic glory. It always impresses me how we always want what we can’t have and always fight when we took it for granted and see it slipping away…
