I watched you today…

I watched you through your screen today. I looked into mine and out of yours.

I watched you move; framed against your odd room of bricks, wood, and paint.

I watched you dance around the house, turning this way and that when you had to find your keys. Hair pinned back since it wouldn’t cooperate.

I watched you opening your mail, silly envelopes arriving earlier than expected. I saw you smile and it made the day easier.

You looked at me… more than once. As if to acknowledge that I was there, gently telling me you didn’t have time for me today… but you would be back… later.

You sat and looked into the screen this morning, reading, typing, observing. I stared back through your startling eyes and into your brain when you sat there. I looked through your brain, into your spine and down, down, down through your every nerve; feeling your feelings, exploring your skin.

I’m sorry you are 3,000 miles away from California, but you felt close today. Just thought you should know.

Not that your question needs an answer (as it is obvious), but anyone who knows you, knows you love WOMEN, not men. Happy Valentine’s Day. Hope you do something unexpected today.
