Spring Cleaning!

“Life… itself… becomes a mirror held up to art, and the living now perform their lives… at each exchange something new is added and something old is lost or discarded.” ~ Victor Turner

I recently read a blurb on a friend’s myspace (I know, I know) page that said something similar to the above quote. Out with the Old, In with the New. That’s been rather the theme for the last couple months.

While I am traveling and meeting new fantastic people and friends, some of the existing or deprecated friends are going away. Some by their choice, some by my choice, others by default.

Amy got a new job and actually moved into her own place, no longer living with family. I got to help her move all her stuff in… yay, we priveleged few. People from her work came and sat around drinking at her place last night but I cut out early, making room for the new friends and new life.

I’m even getting rid of my little sports car. Poor Jenna… she really has been a fantastic ride, always giving back even more than i put into her. But the mileage is showing, over 100k now, and it’s time to trade her in. It’s totally going to be wierd shopping for new cars, especially after driving that one for so long, but it’s time.

MOTORCYCLE!!! Buying my first motorcycle is going to help soothe the sting of the car thing. I’m being very conservative in my looking, I’m not getting something much bigger than a 600cc engine. The Suzuki SV comes recommended by people ‘in the know’ on this sort of thing, but the only two models I like are the Honda CBR f4i and the Suzuki GSX-R. I’ve spent what little spare time I have had in the last week researching and going to look at Crotch Rockets.

One thing that strkes me as odd, you are simply not allowed to test drive motorcycles. Wether they be new or used, noone will let you drive them before you pay for them. I mean, c’mon, it’s not like i’m asking your daughter for secks before I take her out for dinner.

Projects at work are all centered around excising old technology and making new creations to replace it. I swear i should read my horoscope or eat more chinese food. I would probably be reading about newness everywhere.

Long story short, I’m more excited than Augustus Gloop with a Wonka bar suppository. I’m climbing out of bed each day just waiting to see what new stuff I encounter. It’s a rare feeling that I haven’t had for a while. Tingles a little bit… In my pants.

Adventure.
