Is it always this green?! I’ve forgotten there were colors other than dirt brown and sky blue from living in the desert for so long. The colors here are verdant and I see the sky less here as it’s pretty moist. It feels like you are being misted or licked as you walk around.
And let’s just say customer service isn’t what it is in the West. I’ve been given the stiff dick or stiff middle finger any time i’ve brought up the fact that the hand someone is trying to deal me sucks. It’s a crack up when the large-like-the-ocean-is-wet black bank teller looks up at me and says, in her pancake-syrup-thick southern accent,”I know what I said.”
Going to meet up with a bunch of sport bikers tomorrow afternoon, so I’ve got that going for me. Every street out here is like a race course! nothing runs in a straight line, and everything is rolling hills. It’s like living in a video game. I’ve had a couple near misses, but nothing to worry about. Most of the drivers here are pretty placid. Waiting for a good time to go ride Deal’s Gap and the Tail of the Dragon.
I have several locations that have caught my interest but I am not going to go to until I have someone here to go on an adventure with. Places like the Indian grocery store, Galaxy Foods, and ‘Em R Wings. The bizzare magic of this state is limitless. Two Words: Crazy. Fire.
Yesterday was awesome. I got to work and they finally had my badge ready for me. I got home from work and my new glasses were here along with new checks, new atm card, new Ipod, and a check for a couple thousand dollars in the mail.
I haven’t been out to the Atlantic Ocean yet. That’s coming soon. I start my S.C.U.B.A. certifications in a couple weeks, then I should be finishing that in mid-July. Effin Sweet! I figure I’ll load the bike in the truck and drive out to the Ocean, then see if i can still ride after huffing gas out of a tank all day. Drunk and Disorderly comes to mind.
Pretty damn smooth overall. My roommate Bree is out of town for a week with a family matter and so it seems whenever she leaves, i get the weirdos. I’m out of town next weekend in Atlanta seeing my friend Will. I hope someone cool comes over to bother Bree while I am away.
A week ago when Bree was gone some retired cop lady from across the street came over to give me a tongue lashing about motorcycles and keeping out of trouble. She had to have been 70 if she was a day.
Today, I had some neighborhood council lady come by and sit down with me for like an hour telling stories about the city and the neighbors, then give me pamphlets and stuff for all her favorite doctors, restaurants, and directions to the grocery store and library. She brought these and many other strange items in a fancy easter basket for me. What the heck am I going to do with an Easter Basket this time of year?
Anyways, I live in Stepford. Here’s some love from the Demon on a street full of suburbia. Muah!

I’m so glad you’re lovin’ NC and are adjusting well. I see the welcome wagon lady has found you with her basket of goodies.
I know what you should do with the basket… You should fill it with eggs, then roar down the street with your bike, pop a wheelie and egg that lil’ old ladies house as you drive by…. that would be funny… but then again, I’m just crazy… it would be a good laugh though. ;D
Good Golly, Miss Molly! …I love your bike. It’s gorgeous! Take care! Have fun out east!
Wow. I’m shocked – but really glad for you. Gettin’ outta the West. I hope it’s a good move for you. Sounds like things were getting pretty dang horrible where you were. And even though people say that moving and leaving everything behind doesn’t solve your problems – it sure helps to have a fresh start sometimes! Here’s hoping you all the best. Oh, and I’d like your new mailing address, please.
